ISO 45001 Certification Awarded to Qatar Airways Group


The Airways has implemented various precautionary measures, including the implementation of risk assessments, training and regular inspection to check ISO 45001 certification compliance in order to achieve the certification.

The ISO certification body assessed the number of criteria, including performing independent test analysis by eight auditors across eleven locations before granting ISO 45001:2018 certifications to Qatar Airways Group.

The Certification body also interviewed the airline employees while evaluating the organization’s compliance with the industry standard.

“The safety and wellbeing of our employees is of paramount importance to us, and our new ISO 45001:2018 is a testament to the vigorous measures we have taken. “We have demonstrably reduced the factors that lead to work-related injuries and thereby improved the lifestyle of our employees.

“Qatar Airways is an industry leader, and we are proud to have attained our 14th ISO certification,” said the Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker.

The airline group has achieved multiple ISO certifications that acknowledge its high performance internationally and set a criterion to ensure operational excellence across its departments and subsidiaries.

Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC)

Recently Qatar Airways Catering Subsidiary, QACC, has achieved its sixth certification, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for Laboratory Accreditation. It will help the airline group to generate lawful laboratory results both nationally and internationally.

The airline company has previously achieved five other ISO certifications such as ISO 14001:2015, ISO 22000:2018, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and FSSC 22000 V5.1.

Hamad International Airport

Hamad International Airport (HIA) has achieved four ISO certifications including: ISO 55000:2014, ISO/IEC 27001:2013, ISO 22301:2019 and currently, ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018. Hamad International Airport is Qatar Airways award-winning airport hub.

Qatar Aviation Services (QAS)

The Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) has achieved two Quality Management Systems (QMS) ISO accreditation under ISO 9001:2015 certification for its airline operational services and cargo management services.

QAS is also certified with International Air Transport Association Safety Audit of Ground Operations (ISAGO), ISO 9001:2015 and RA3 (Regulated Agent). The Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) is also a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) ground handling partnership. It proactively participates in various technical groups, including the IATA Ground Handling Automation and the sub-group related to Load control, implementing suggestions to improve and enhance safety standards in the aviation industry.
